Mum made it to almost 90 but sadly left us two months before (actually a good thing, no longer in pain etc.). Dad is now 93 and going strong.

Happy Birthday Lofty's mum.

My sisters are taking him away next week into the wilds of Norfolk (somewhere near Swaffam). Three of them, one small dog and my dad. Hope he survives. They luckily found somewhere with four bedrooms that will accept one well behaved pet - luckily Morris is a well behaved dog - she is tinyish, loves cheese, can race along a beach faster than a whippet and loves cheese.

They usually allow pets - with well behaved owners! Morris - an excellent name for a dog

When Ruth acquired her, the name was Dottie, she went through a few name changes until Morris was settled on.

(All our family dogs have been female and all have had what are considered masculine names . . . . )

Have you noticed how most people, when addressing a dog, will say ''There's a good boy'', not considering whether it might actually be a good girl? :)

Seeing as the forum is a bit like Brigadoon these days I thought I'd take the opportunity to say Hello Everyone, before it disappears again for another 100 years. :P :alien: :geek:

Made some good friends on here, even if I haven't actually met some of them.

Those I have met have become constant friends and a pleasure knowing them.

My dad finally left us last Saturday, peaceful end and 96 years old. I got to spend the previous two weeks with him and his last night my nephew spent with him, and the last few hours older brother and one of my younger sisters were with him.
