I'd cross your legs til January if I were you. I was born at the beginning of December and I had my eldest on Dec 21. Always got a joint birthday and Christmas pressie and birthday parties were always a bit crap because of people's Christmas plans. Then, due to my piss poor planning and the fact that he was two weeks late, I have a boy who has exactly the same, only worse. No point having a party as his friends have broken up from school and gone away. And the presents, if they come, are in Christmas wrapping paper. Good luck, loved being pregnant and love motherhood. Better than winning the lottery. Xxxx

So my 26 year old son and his girlfriend have given me my Christmas gift ... a grandchild (my first) to be born in the summer. Flabbergasted was the word I used, but I'm thrilled. It's not going to be easy, he's a mature student with a part-time job and she'll have to take maternity leave, but I'm sure we'll manage somehow - millions have done it before on very little money, even Mary and Joseph!

Congrats, it is the best thing ever. Way, way better than having your own. I've got my grand-daughter for the whole day next week end. I'm counting down the days. My house is full of baby stuff, just in case. Husband is none too impressed. Why do we need a bouncy chair, nappies, cream, changing mat etc etc etc. There is a reason, its because I want them.
