i dont think they're the saviours of rock n roll

but

i dont think they're shite.

but

i do think they're overrated.

cant there be a third option for those who really dont care about them that much.

my feelings about AM in a nutshell is that im really glad theyve done well- it can only mean more exposure for the fucking cracking local music scene but the fact is (for me in anycase) there are a shedload of unknown sheffield bands who are better. (in my opinion)

Neither, obviously - but even the NME's not always wrong. They make me chuckle every song of theirs I hear, so I'll be popping into Record Collector on my way home and buying the album if they've got any left (though mainly to get the jenny lewis and Bonnie Prince Billy albums).

Yep, suppose I should've put a 3rd option, but it continues a long tradition of me posting flawed polls!! ......I think I'm with you Shotters on this lot......but whats all the 'we're not doing Top of The Pops' ......I'm sorry, but they're not the fucking Clash! :?

the thing about the monkeys is i quite like them but all the stuff sounds the same, all the kinds of people they sing about are the people who buy there albums, i think the singer is witty with his lyrics but i know for a fact they all used to dig rap and drive about in novas.

as appose to me listening to country music on the bus!

to be honest it's the Streets they remind me of most - so not that surprising really.

the last thing i need to hear in a morning is 10,000 bpm, a nice relaxing bus journey is needed first thing, obviously as loud as possible so i don't have to hear school girls talking about school boys and the chav sat next to me with his "this is hardhouse garage rap flugalhorn remix 2006 vol.ii" buzzing in me ear like an overgrown mosquito!

I like em, I think they are fun and have lots of energy that, as an older, slower human being, I would like to syphon from them. Great stuff.

couldnt agree more. im looking forward to my bus ride home tonight - with ryan adams' 29 blockin out the screaming kids and the annoying chavs who thinks its 'rare cool' to shout motherfucker on the bus at the top of thier lungs with grannies and little kids listening.
