Edit - 1 January 2019 the link no longer works.

Pre-ordered. It says that the release date is 1st January 2019, but I’m guessing they’ve put that as they don’t know when the precise release date will be?

Looking forward to reading this! If it's Rough Trade does that mean there will be a book signing? :D

Published by Headline rather than Rough Trade, just that they are the first site to put it up for pre-order, but a signing would be good.

As per efsb, I suspect the release date on the Rough Trade page is not the correct one.

Google Books has attributed this to the author Richard Hawley

(It is co-written by Ian Clayton)

Hive has the following information:
Format: Hardback
Pages: 352 pages, 2 X8 ILLUSTRATIONS
Publisher: HEADLINE
Publication Date: 01/09/2020
Category: Biography: general
ISBN: 9781472247254

If you do not want the deluxe version the sites I've looked at vary from £14.99 to £20 for the standard edition.

Should that not be Unexpected Memories?

Look forward to reading the less than £30 edition.

Has Richard commented on whether this is legit or not?

It is legitimate. I've amended the title of this post as all sites have it listed as Memories rather than the title Rough Trade originally publicised (Memoirs).

Links to sites which currently list the book at a lower price are below. Ignore the publication dates as that is still unknown.

http://www.brownsbfs.co.uk/Product/HAWL ... 1472247254

https://guardianbookshop.com/unexpected ... awley.html

Note that the book is no longer on the Rough Trade site.

Suffolk Libraries have this blurb for the book:

"Unexpected Memories of Richard Hawley, by Richard Hawley
“Richard Hawley mines his memory in this hilarious, rich and poignant memoir. Featuring tales about the people and places of his beloved Sheffield, to being on the road with Longpigs and Pulp, to collaborating with the likes of Jarvis Cocker, Guy Garvey, the Arctic Monkeys, and Lisa Marie Presley.”"

I'm a bit confused now :eh?
Do I need to re-order the book, or will it still arrive from whoever I pre-ordered it from originally?

Suspect we are all in the same circumstances as most of us placed a pre-order with Rough Trade. As the release isn't imminent I'd say sit back and relax until there is a publication date announced.

I’ve just received a refund from the Guardian bookshop for this. Isn’t it happening, or is this for some technical reason?

Edit: Apparently the links above to pre-order the book are still live.
