Went to Glasgow on Friday night to see The Crookes at King Tut's and was pleasantly surprised by High Hazels, a Sheffield band from Handsworth. The guitarist is definitely inspired by Hawley, both in terms of guitar choice (Gretsch) and playing style.

Had a chat with them after the gig, and it turns out their manager is Stan who was in The Seaside (90s Sheffield band who I saw on many occasions). It's amazing what a small world it is.

I've bought both singles and I would describe them as similar to Treebound Story, The Smiths and The Crookes. Well worth checking them out.

Sad to hear today that the group have decided their Leadmill gig on the 21st September will be their last for the foreseeable future.
