Apologies if someone's already posted a link to these guys (I've tried searching - honest!) I've just been listening to their excellent Daytrotter session and wanted to recommend them :*:

Jools is the first time I've heard them and they were the highlight for me. Will be getting their stuff and hope they add some other dates - I'd forgoten about The Blue Lamp in Aberdeen, used to drink in there a lot when I was up there, be a great place to see them

Tonight on Radio2

Today, 19:00 on BBC Radio 2
SYNOPSIS
Tonight's session comes from Pokey LaFarge and the South City Three, a four piece band who celebrate the old time string, ragtime and swing music of 1930s America .
Born in Illinois, Pokey LaFarge left home at the age of eighteen and took on a drifter's life, hitchhiking across the country and busking on street corners. Now based in St Louis, Missouri, Pokey immerses himself in early 20th century music and culture, and is rarely seen in anything but 1920s attire - complete with straw boater, waistcoat and bow-tie. His music has been described as a mixture of delta blues, Appalachian string music, ragtime and swing. Pokey's 4th album 'Middle Of Everywhere' was released earlier this year and Bob met up with the band in Nashville in September for a live session.
