Their PA just posted that they could not even hear themselves on stage it was so loud. It wasn't a normal gig though, think it was part of a festival so I suspect a lot of the people in the room just were not Sticks fans.

Most annoying thing in the world is chattering at gigs. More artists and venues should take a stand.

Sorry I couldn't be there but had a work commitment.

On the Sticks forum people were moaning about the venue, I've seen several groups there and always found it okay.

Hope someone was able to do some illicit videoing for You Tube but the security there are very tight on such things, and rude about it as well.

Stuart A. Staples guested at the Triffids' show at the Barbican on Friday - despite forgetting the words to one of their best known songs, the boy did good;

OK - I've got a confession to make - I don't this band at all. As I'm going to Green Man this year, I thought I'd have a listen to them. Would anyone let me know which album/albums of theirs they'd recommend please?

Tindersticks (II) I think is the best to discover them by. There are two albums called Tindersticks as they just used the group name for their first two albums, II has a black and white photo of a man on it.

Stuart's voice is a bit of an acquired taste but for me with this group, it's the music rather than the vocals.

Pop on to iTunes and have a listen to bits of some of the songs from that album:

My Sister
Tiny Tears
Travelling Light
No More Affairs
She's Gone

Stick with each song to the end - I was not a great fan till I saw them live when they did a Barbican gig where they played the whole of that album (which also brought together the original group members for the first time in years).

Stuart kind of mumbles, but it does work with the type of music they play. They are usually extremely good live.
