It's sods law, I haven't got my annual one yet so I'm hoping I can make it to New Years now and avoid feeling shit for christmas.

I've found that since I stopped taking anything other than (shit loads of) water and the odd paracetamol for my colds they seem to be much less frequent and definitely less damaging.

Hope you are feeling better Richard, and that you have managed to find some festive spirit and enjoy Christmas with the family x

I think this bug is all over the country. I'm in the latter stages if it but the wife is in the worst throes of it right now. We managed to cough and splutter our way through Christmas Day and Boxing Day whilst just about managing to pull together all the seasonal food preparation stuff along the way. Glad its just about over really and we can relax today just snacking and consuming warming drinks.

This bug has spoiled so many people's Christmas, and our family has been no exception. My Brother went to bed Christmas Eve and didn't emerge until yesterday! My Mum in Law has been hit bad with it and been on all sorts of antiviral medication. My Nieces and Nephews have all been very poorly for a week or so. I had it, along with the Wife, at the beginning of December, but we are still hacking and coughing. What ever it is, it is taking some shifting.

I hope everyone here is now making a full recovery.

sorry to hear it, there are lots of folks down with swine flu in our place, have you been checked out for that ? the symptoms sound a bit different in your case, hopefully it isnt the dreaded monkey pox, I read there are 15 people in the North West of England in quarantine with that bad boy....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monkeypox# ... _in_humans

also could be Hypertrichosis, thats doing the rounds too, needs quick treatment so get down the doctor as if it gets out of hand the symptoms become irreversable

seriously though, get well soon.

In the driving rain, every ticket costs the same
For where you can't go
Mustang horses, champagne glasses
Anything frail anything wild
It's the price of living motion, what's beautiful is broken
And grace is just the measure of a fall.

Sorry you're still feeling ill Richard, and everyone who's been nobbled by it. Get yourselves off to the doctors' if you think it's going on too long. Seriously, don't muck about....
