This is one of the best trips I've made in ages. Len and I went along with two friends and the dog. We had such a laugh; the scenery was stunning and, once we'd got the hang of steering a 55ft boat from the back, it was fantastic fun. Perfect chill out week with gorgeous weather. Everyone should try it at some point :D

Who manned the tiller over the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct?

I got off and walked - and that was bad enough!

Our friend Ron on the way across and hubby on the way back. I got off to take some photos but preferred being in the boat!

I've done that - scary...and I was the driver, or whatever you call the bloke who steers a barge. I remember being terrified. Hated every minute of the experience - I was on "holiday" with ex g/f - the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct was a factor in the split

Bhaji? ..... I'll get me coat .... again

I can imagine that the aqueduct could be the cause of consternation; that's partly the reason I jumped ship and walked across!
