Sure I saw two guys under this name as support to The Leisure Society in Mancland last Summer - remember thinking they were different and amiable but ultimately did not float my boat - will listen again - I was given a third chance so it's fair they get a second - big of me I know

Ha, cheers all (I play guitar/pedal steel in the coasties). Poppy dog, I can only apologise, we had about ten minutes to catch a train after that Manchester gig and it was twatting it down outside, we were a bit preoccupied probably(or just shit).
Dunno whether I'll get told off for advertising gigs and suchlike, but we're playing the Slaughtered Lamb in Clerkenwell tonight if anyone's at a loose end (on around 8.45). Should be good, full band, headline show. And if you thought our name was bad, support comes from our brilliant, very good friend, Round Ron Virgin (honestly).

I spent many years in loony tunes band camp to get this sound. Anyway Horse, i'm banning you from this site for shamelessly promoting us.

Sounded great on Cerys's 6music show this lunchtime. Sounds like The National doing Hawley covers. Definitely going to catch them live. Elma Fudd or not.

Howdy all and sorry once again for the shameless self promotion (administerial types, feel free to delete/block/send the lads round if I'm out of order). But the Coastguards' new album came out yesterday and we're made up that Rough Trade have made it album of the week (must be a quiet week).

http://www.roughtrade.com/

Also, the last track we played for Cerys that didn't go out live at the time was played by Gideon Coe the other night. You can still hear it for the rest of today, if you feel the need, here:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00vdbv9

It starts around 2hrs11mins.

Thanks again for the kind words.
H x

P.S I'm hoping that because I didn't swear, Dan won't bollock me.

Ta very much. No plans to play Sheffield at the minute as far as I know (although to be fair, I don't know a lot). We've got a tour being booked for around mid Dec but I think that's all darn saaarf. I know Dan's fond of Sheffield and I love the place so if we can I'm sure we will, we're well overdue a visit.

Thought I remembered a few posts about Dan Michaelson. Saw them last night at the Slaughtered Lamb in Clerkenwell. A really good night - great music and atmosphere. Dan's voice reminds me a lot of a sort of mellow Matt Berninger from the National. Nice bit of humour too!
