Anyone else had this happen.

What is on my PC screen (not the screen itself but what is running on the screen) is kind of flashing. I can't really describe it properly, I had iTunes open and suddenly a video on there began to play. I clicked on stop and it moved to the next video and began playing that.

Couldn't close iTunes down, tried to run task manager, but that would not stay on the screen. Couldn't get the start menu up so had to switch thePC off and re-boot.

All was okay for a couple of hours, then it happened again. Now I can't get anythng to work, I'm running a virus check (the one thing that has worked), but i ran one of those earlier today and have not been on any odd sites since then so doubt it's a virus.

I'm on my netbook at the moment, I don't really know what to google to get advice on this. If I look for flickering all the advice is about the screen but it is not that.

I can't even roll back to a previous recovery as I can't get anything to open - I was toldto run chkdsk, as soon as i type c a program beginning with C opens and then hangs.

Do you know what the graphics card is - make and model? Might be worth checking their website for a driver update. Sometime the drivers get corrupted and cause problems so even if it's not an update it can sort it by reinstalling. Worth a try. also is there a driver for the keyboard? That might be worth uninstalling.

I've had no problems since I rolled back, and I haven't re-installed any of the programs yet. Will add them one by one, leaving a few days between, and see if there is a return of the problem.

But I may also do as you suggest as it could have been a conflict of existing drivers and those programs (I suspect the Adobe flash update as all was okay until I installed that).
