So, Queen are touring for the first time since 1986. As the small matter of frontman Freddie Mercury being very much dead is likely to cause something of a problem, hoary old pub rocker Paul Rodgers will be taking singing duties.

Bassist John Deacon wisely retired years ago and hasn't been seen since. Brian May still has that ridiculous bloody hair and Roger Taylor's now a fat, bloated porker who looks so overweight that he's likely to have a stroke during the drum riff in Tie Your Mother Down and will spend the rest of the tour in hospital quadraspazzed on a lifeglug.

Needless to say, the whole tour sold out straight away and a further 80,000 tickets have gone on sale for Hyde Park. As a child I was a really big Queen fan. I grew older and grew away from their music but I can still appreciate that they were a great band blessed with an extraordinary frontman. Some knackered old 70's rocker with a hair weave isn't going to cut the mustard is it? I watched the webcast of them playing the 46664 AIDS concert at the weekend and they were bloody awful. Rodgers was using an autocue and kept fucking up the words. Anyway, what do I know but it's gonna be a disaster isn't it? Why can't these millionaires retire and leave it alone. It's over. Queen died on a cold November day in 1991. A little bit of my childhood has been fucked over by Brian May's eagerness to have his ego sucked off. The curly haired git.

I think you are a bit harsh on Paul Rogers who is a great singer, but yes, it is a horrible prospect.

Sure, Brian May was an excellent guitarist but the Queen live experience was all about Freddie Mercury, end of story. It just reminds me of all these 60s bands who haul themselves around the Butlins circuit with one original member who generally turns out to be the bass player. Very sad.

But it has sold out, so I guess the people must want it.

Well I have to put my hand up and admit I am going!

I am not a queen fan really, obviously I know all the usual stuff, but LP's best friend is like this huge Queen geek (bless) so we're going along with him, i just want to go and see all the fat, ageing rockers with their mullets and bad sense of dress!

Although I am still contemplating flogging my ticket and making a killing on Ebay!

No! That's not your sister. If it was your sister Sheds would have also included:

-Excessive facial hair...
-A virgin at 38...
-Being a sad, fat wanker with no friends who spends all her life with her tongue firmly planted up her mother's arse when secretly her mother wishes she'd just fuck right off.

I could continue. Indeed, I will.

-Being an obsessive Queen fan, who goes to every fan club convention each year where upon she meets up with the rest of the sad no-life fuckspuds who then indulge in 3 days of Queen-related 'fun', which involves Queen tombolas, Queen-pin-the-tail-on-John-Deacon, Queen partnership whist and fucking awful Queen tribute bands...
-Having a flat full of Queen memorabilia, including some hilariously bad drawings of Freddie Mercury drawn by half witted fans and sold through the fan club...
-Never, EVER, FUCKING EVER, listening to anything other than Queen...

...and lastly, unforgivably, calling Freddie Mercury 'Freddie Merkferks'.

Overblown showbusiness rock that's ageing worse than Sean. The old stuff is tired, the newest stuff has dated.

Even then, Queen was Freddie, and it'll never 'work' without him.
