It was like gritty Worcester Sauce ....... I guess that minimises my chances of ever becoming an honorary Sheffielder then? I quite like Guinness and I have stainless steel cutlery!!!! :*:

Must have been something wrong with the bottle you got, it's not gritty and it is less piquant than Worcester Sauce.

Yes, I put a large quantity on my cheese sandwich (so much that when I slammed down the top slice, sauce shot out the side). If I'd used that much Worcester sauce I would have hit the roof with one bite.

Must have been flood damaged stock, hence the grittyness.

You need to be weaned on it to get that comfort food satisfaction.

In the driving rain, every ticket costs the same
For where you can't go
Mustang horses, champagne glasses
Anything frail anything wild
It's the price of living motion, what's beautiful is broken
And grace is just the measure of a fall.

I've had a bottle for about a month and I'm well addicted - can't eat chips without it. :*:

I've tried it again from a proper bottle - it's OK-ish (ducks to avoid abuse and stones) :*:
