Thanks Craig. So, an acoustic set on Saturday and an electric set on Sunday afternoon, maybe?

I might even nod to you if I see you but having said that, you do always look fucking scary and utterly unapproachable

That's harsh. Try introducing yourself and being pleasant. You might be surprised.

I hoped the wink at the end would show that my tongue was firmly in my cheek. Never mind.

I'll vouch for your tongue-in-cheekness Takemeanywhere. Maggie - don't pick a fight with him; he's too big! :*: :*: :*: :*:

Perhaps we do need some new emoticons on here!! By the same token Takemeanywhere, Craig is fairly approachable, so long as you do so carefully and with a long pointed stick .... and only when he's sleeping after being fed

Note to self : don't post when pissed - my Sunday has been arranged for me and it doesn't include a trip to Sheffield

Have a good one folks!

Heard he was on with Echo and the Bunnymen and did the encore with them.

Mr Hawley joined them on a storming version of Waiting for the Man, and was still squallling feedback when the Mac et al had exited stage left. I think a someone had to come back & drag him off.

Top weekend - thanks Sheffield.

Highlights for me were:

The Hosts covering Roy Orbison's In Dreams, part way through a stunning set

Seeing Neil McSweeney twice (I wish I could have heard him as well as I could see him - people's conversations must be really important)

Hawley joining the Bunnymen to top off a typically swaggering set from the scousers

Exit Calm's incendiary four-song set at Harley Hotel - cut short due to technical issues but still sky-scraping

Meeing the not-that-scary and fairly approachable, Craig

I look forward to doing it all again next summer...

Anyone that covers anything by Roy Orbison is worthy of further investigation so I'm off to myspace - sad to hear folks nattering during a Sweeney set [morons] - and Criag didn't bite yer...result!

The Hosts are good and a certain Hawley is involved in the production of their album.

They supported him at Shepherds Bush Empire and again at the Astoria.
