we were all so heart broken the day he died,me,Roger jackson,John Firminger,My Uncle Eric and Gus' brother Hartley went to fagans,which Gus Loved very much,for a drink to toast our old friend,Hartley had a CD with some words recorded by Gus for his funeral and some fantastic unreleased Carl Perkins songs on it,very moving the pub was empty apart from us and Tom of course it was as if he was there with us.......bless him

although on another tack,he was a wild man and he lived to be 71 he was very calm about it all he was a cool dude

It was gus's funeral today. I couldnt make the service because of a work meeting but i did manage to call in the pub to show my respects. Hartly gave me a massive hug and said it had been a lovely service. Many friends were there and it will im sure be a big sesh and many wonderful stories of the life gus lead. Im so glad i went. X

I'm so upset i wasn't there i was in Hamburg i spent the whole day thinking of Gus and all of his family and friends i will see them when i get home but its not the same,Firmo put a Sun single on his coffin for me of Carl Perkins and he read some words of mine out at the service
