little known but quirky musos from West country and one of my favourite "alternative" groups. Anyone go ? And what is the venue like.
They do their fair share of croonong but not in the Hawley style - very Beatles-esque

Not been to the Boardwalk for a couple of years, but from what I remember it's a long, narrow venue. Bar down one side, some seating alcoves down the other and a small standing area in front of the stage - which is the place to be if you want to see anything.

It's short on niceties, but has a good atmosphere.

thye were ticky - they are all locals or were then. Mutter is now in Bridport and some of them Bristol/Yeovil. I saw them just pre-Christmas at a converted theatre in Bath with mostly standing it was fantastic. Boardwalk sounds just the place - ta for the info - how many does it hold - couple of hundred ?

400 officially. But if you get in much past about 251st you'd struggle to see much due to the layout. That said it's a great venue, just don't be late if you're going on a night that's likely to be a full house. Flipside is it works equally well with a smaller crowd when they've got the tables & chairs out. Been to some great gigs with 50 or 60 people in there too and it still has a decent atmosphere.
