3: frechville community school for hosting the fuck city shitters in 1987 at their jumble sale

4: duke street trades and labour club, as above

5: some of the cheaper clubs at the university when they used to let unemployed layabouts in for 50p :)

That bar downstairs at Sheffield Uni Students Union was alright as well. Leadmill was the best though back then IMO.

leadmill pre-new floor in about 1989 was decent, although i always preferred the Take Two in Atercliffe, proper venue that

many happy memories of walking miles back into town after the last 52 bus had gone, and getting harrassed by pissed up bitter lads on the wicker

great venue though

....then there was the cavern, run by a coupla guys from the happening men (weren't they something to do with the dylans and crispin hunt's early bands?)

this was open in 1987/8 under the arches on commercial street, near ponds forge :)

that was me!

i still have the spray-paint on my fingers to prove it! i was the thick drummer.

although i did indeed put "fuck city shitters" not "shit city fuckers", but it was on a diagonal slope and you may have read it wrong...

tragically the council demolished that wall years ago. typical of their treatment of sheffield's rock 'n' roll history.... :x
