BBC4 Friday 21st August is Shirley Bassey night.

At 22.00 the Electric Proms from 2009 where Richard accompanies her on After the Rain. (Shame they are not showing the half hour support stint he did the same night).

Following that, at 23.00 the Imagine episode about the making of the album 'The Performance' which features a short clip of Richard playing an acoustic version of After the Rain.

RH got a mention on this evening's Pointless BBC quiz show. One of the question options asked contestants to name artists who have had top 40 hit singles or albums with the word bridge or bridges in the title. No one came up with our Richard but, at the end of the pass, he was named as one of the pointless answers ( for Lady's Bridge of course). Nothing to be concerned about though as Richard was in good company with Prince also being one of the pointless answers!

Hello everyone :Hoorah ..> I remember that very clearly.....well there’s a first for everything.....it was my birthday, I was 42 I think :eh? .....Guy got the whole orchestra and choir to sing happy birthday in Abbey road, I think it was on a break or a rehearsal, I forget which exactly....dunno if that was on film somewhere?....maybe....but it doesn’t matter it’s in my head.....!

I’m always playing or messing about with some bit of music to keep me occupied during this strange time when I’m not walking the dogs or hoovering.....I do a lot of that....oh and sweeping up.....sweeping up and humming...I’m a dab hand at that now :D

I hope you’re all surviving folks, I pop in here every now and then.....!...stay safe and sane .

It’s going to be ok you know....we are led by incompetent scary idiot clowns without an ounce of what’s really needed.....thoughtful compassion and empathy....not a chance of that from those c***s.....so we have be the ones who give it.....that’s how it’ll be ok I reckon.....but any road what do I know? I’m just a guitar player retraining to be a humming sweeper.....! I might give Sheffield Wednesday a call.

Sending best wishes and the kindest of regards to you all :D

Richard

Take care Mr H - I've no idea what this "hoovering" is of which you speak though....

PS - Tony Pulis - as viewed from someone who saw his Stoke teams, be prepared for lots of 0-0 draws...

Good to hear from you Richard, and the regulars who seem to be dropping in again. I've heard of Hoovering. There's that other thing that goes on though - ironing - no idea what that's all about. :alien:

Ironing - hmm, I think I have an iron somewhere in my flat, and I discovered I have an ironing board which went into my external cupboard when I moved in and has been there ever since!!

Ha, I do all of those things but, wisely, Mrs. R. doesn't not allowed me to get involved with the cooking. I'm only allowed in the kitchen to do the washing up.
