Hi new on here, and I thought that someone may be interested in this. I live in Bournemouth and a couple of years ago was introduced to a woman Pat, who has sadly since passed away, and was the widow of Terry Thornton, who as I am sure you know, ran the Leadmill predecessors Club 60 and the Esquire club, and also managed Joe Cocker for a while.
I spent quite a few evenings with her, and knowing my interest in music told me all about nights with the Kinks sleeping in her lounge, and Joe Cocker.
One evening she gave me some memorabilia of the times. There was a relatively new Vance Arnold and the Savages book with a CD that was apparently cut from tapes found in their garage, and a thicker book that documented the Esquire Club and the acts that played there.
But also i have an original flyer from Club 60 (about a5 size), which is the one copied in the Esquire Book, and mentions a lot of the acts that played there, and also a gateleg flyer about 4 inches square, double sided from the Esquire club, and this is also extensively copied for the book.
Obviously i would like to keep them, and of course these items may be as common as muck, but if there is any interest for local music heritage around Sheffield I would consider passing them on.

Hi Richard,

I'll post some images when i can, and if there is anything you don't have, then you are welcome to them. Music belongs to all of us, but as a Sheffield boy these are more yours than mine.

That is so thoughtful but this quiet history is for everyone who’s interested
