According to the artist's twitter account this is written by RH. It's a bonus track on iTunes from her album

I wrote it about and for Norma Waterson when she was seriously ill in a coma at the time none of us knew if she was going to make it I went to see her in Warrington hospital with J P Bean and I wrote this song when I got back I just wanted to do something to let her know I love her she made it through ok thank the stars,as The lyrics say

"Your precious to me like Owens poetry, and I wish you well my heart of Oak"

I recorded three versions of it,sadly I couldn't make it fit with the last album but was happy to let Carice record it as she really loved the song.....looks like it didn't fit her album either  :*:

That's beautiful :thumleft: Of course we have to hear you sing it now, too. A future B side maybe?

It's a beautiful song - would love to hear all three Hawley versions - Richard, would you release them at some point, pretty please? :D :D

I don't know how you do it, but 40 minutes after I played it for the one and only time it's still in my head. The mark of a good song I think, happens just about time with every song you write <*>

Yes! Please can you release your version(s). We saw Norma at the Wadebridge folk festival in 2007 - her brother Mike also showed up - and she truly is an inspiring presence. My missus particularly liked your reference to her 'arms raised open wide, singing to the skies' - she does sing like that!

Would you possibly record with Norma? - we see that you're playing as part of the Bright Phoebus Revisited concerts. It would be fantastic if you did an album of folk songs (and some Lal Waterson originals?!) with some or all of the Watersons. I can hear a Norma and Richard duet searing across my imaginary sky right now and it's fantastic!

This appears to be a fair assessment. :)
