Do you think this bloke only has one testicle? If we see him down the pub later, I'll ask him)

Helen - the man himself did indeed turn up at the pub about 2 minutes after you both left!! Lucky escape there Mr. H....

Your review sums it up perfectly. It was the production team behind Later With Jools so had that kind of a feel to it, although with the acts introducing each other instead of Jools. There was a massive glitter ball rotating in the middle of the ceiling and with all the beautiful Christmas songs being played it felt like we were being serenaded inside a huge 1930s art deco snowglobe! Not much else to add other than my thanks to Richard & the band for yet another special evening, and to you and your friend Helen for being such fab company. Leave the car at home next time and we'll share a glass or two :BEEEER

As much as I bemoan the opportunity to embarrass myself with a bespectacled man in a shiny suit, my pal was langered and at any point was either a. Going to start removing her clothing b. become a pest with Gregory Porter's or c. Be sick so leaving was the best option methinks.
And ditto for the company, Josie. Was a lovely night and you and your friend were great company. I am such the sensible one these days. Always the pick up and drop off woman. Will definitely arrange to have a bunt up at some point. xxx

Great review Helen, sounds like you had a great time! Love the photos too ... but do tell, which one is the drunken lady? I've got an inkling, but don't want to say in case I have it wrong and I offend someone!

And I am very very excited to hear that Richard has brought 'Baby You're My Light ' back out of the closet. It was the first Hawley song I ever heard, and I thought Richard had said it was too high for him to do nowadays. I hope it will be on the set list next time he tours. :Hoorah

The lady in black was the pissed one although I don't look too sober either! I'm in the flowery frock and seem to have caught the stupid grin off my children. Josie just looks glam.

And all H and the band's stuff was good, very lovely. x

An ex-pupil of mine was an assistant producer on this show, I just found out. Look for her on the credits - Rebecca Mounsey - or Bec Mounsey - not sure which version she uses professionally! They had about 90 minutes of recording and all the acts lost one track to the final cut - RH lost "Baby you're my light". They also had to cut interviews, according to Bec.
