How desperate Fabio?

He's a nasty, dirty, cynical piece of work and hopefully won't get anywhere near an England cap.

Disagree there Craig.Davies is rated by all the Premier league defenders. He may be a bit cynical but aren't all the best forwards?
If any of the prima donna's that went to the world cup played with a fraction of his passion and commitment,we would have done a lot better.
Play the man!!!

He's a cheat and has a proper nasty streak. Bad news.

In other words a pro footballer.

Probably what you need against Montenegro...

There's hard and fair. He's dirty. Committed more fouls than any other player in Premier League history. A potential liability. Never exactly set the goal scoring charts alight either has he?

He's also the most fouled player in the Premier League. He's effective, strong and won't let a centre half bully him. He scores goals - maybe not buckets, but usually critical ones, often with limited service so is immediately an improvement on Heskey who rarely displays agression and rarely scores. Not saying Davies would be my first pick but there's worse and England have tried a few of them

How many of the goals scored by strikers playing alongside him has Heskey been responsible for? Plus he's got the experience. If you're looking for a one game option i'd have Heskey anyday.

Davies is 33, never been near an England cap and isn't exactly one for the future. Really fancy having him leading the line at Euro 2012? There may be worse but there are better too. Andy Caroll? Carlton Cole?

Which came first? It is part of the game and always has been to assert yourself physically.

Prejudice against him playing for Bolton is one reason why he hasn't been picked. It's happened to better players than him. Agree it's a bit of a waste of time at 33 but won't be for him and should have had the chance earlier in his career. Been a thug on the pitch never stopped Alan Shearer being a great centre forward. Heskey wouldn't agree to play. Caroll for all his potential has the little matter of a court appearance to get through before he starts making big plans. Carlton Cole is one step up from shit, had a decent season but won't last. Crouch is the best target man available and he scores goals for England. Got a good first touch and holds the play up well. He should have been trusted with more games.

You'd have Davies at Donny no sweat

Whilst i can only condone prejudice against Lancashire teams, the unfashionable clubs argument doesn't really wash given Darren Bent's contstant inclusion in England squads.
Alan Shearer being a thug and constantly being allowed to get away with it domestically cost us victory against Argentina in '98. If Davies elbows start flying with international refs he'll not last 5 minutes.
Crouch would start every England game for me, i think he's a fantastic player.
We don't need him, we've got Billy Sharp.

Davies and Shearer play football how i remember it when i was growing up in the 60's........hard,passionate and with plenty of skill.I remember all the teams were full of players similar to Davies and Shearer and in those days England were a feared team.(Jack Charlton,Nobby Stiles,Alan Ball,Roger Hunt,Ray Wilson,Geoff Hurst etc....all hard and skillful)
Now,with so many teams managed by foreign managers, the England players are in limbo wondering what the fuck to do when faced with a decent side.Do they play tippy tappy, boring 90 pass football like Arsenal,or do they play in a traditional English style, with pace & passion?(i know what i'd rather pay to see).
Teams are laughing at our inept heartless displays and wondering what happened to the real English players.
I remember years ago, when England played,it was a real shock when we didn't win,now i can hardly bring myself to watch England(though i always will) knowing that they will bow out without a whimper.
When we get a manager who will pick and play a whole team of people like Davies we will be feared again, until then we will continue to win nothing and play shit.
It's a bit late for Davies to have a future with England, but for me it seems the penny has dropped for Fabio.........play the man!!!
