A great singer, interpreter and collector and it seems she always had time to share with others. A great loss to music but a real loss to her family. I hope she has her own peace after what sounds a difficult few years RIP

Thanks for this, I had missed it. A beautiful evocation of Norma, and tribute to her as a person first and foremost, and as a singer. Well said Richard!

It was on the Guardian web site yesterday, I believe the print version is in today's Observer (along with several other tributes by others about others.)
