The last of the famous early rock n rollers to go, something quite momentous. A troubled and troubling man but a musical genius. I saw him in November 1993, Bobbyvgillespie doi5ng Bobby Gillespie dancing in front of me. A vital and visceral performer.

I first heard him on my Dad's 78 of Whole Lotta Shakin/It'll Be Me and a compilation cassette he had of his 60s country songs. I have loved his music all of this time. "Live At The Star Club" is probably the greatest live rock n roll lp and the Granada TV performance is staggering

Dion holds the fading candle of the original magic.

Rock on Jerry Lee

I saw him in 2006 - I managed to get one shot of him, when a small group of folks got up from their seats and rushed to the stage. He saw me with my camera and gave me the side eye. I wouldn't have liked to have messed with him.
