I shall be spending Christmas at my parents, with assorted dogs - Norman the border collie, George the flat coated retriever and Lyra the lurcher (all are female, oddly one sister doesn't name her females with male names).

I saw a puppy just like this in Devon this summer with a sign on his lead saying "Police Dog"... It really made me laugh because he was Soooooo not tough enough!

richard sum advice m8t dnt buy a collie * weve got one biggest f***in mistake little bloody rogue i tell ya youll never have anything clean and youll be up allnight with it buy a ciarn terrier there gorguzz and gd animals for families :D

Too late. We've had two collies and both were fine, but with totally different characters.
