yikes!!

From Setzer.com

During last night's Stray Cats performance in Paris, France, what
appeared to be a switchblade knife was thrown onstage late in the show. Brian was struck in the hand by the object. Although he was quite shaken but not seriously injured by this act of complete stupidity, he tried to carry on and complete all of the songs that the Cats had intended to perform. This incident and the fear that the next item thrown may have seriously injured himself, Slim Jim Phantom or Lee Rocker made continuing the show impossible.

Because of the dangerous actions of 1 spectator, the sold-out crowd was robbed of a full program. 5999 people came out to have fun and celebrate the last Stray Cats show in Paris and 1 nutter tarnished what could have been an incredible memory for all who filled the Zenith. Thankfully, Brian's hand was only bruised and at last report, he will be fine. Had that blade taken another path, we may have been reporting a much different situation. Thankfully we are not.

Because we don't want to read pages and pages of commentary regarding
this issue (and also because of other reasons we don't want to get into)
the Fan Forum has been officially closed until further notice.

Fuck me, is he ok? What an immense ARSE, hope he got the living shit kicked out of him outside. Well deserved, and I'm a pacifist.

Why on earth would these tossers want to spend their hard earned to see an artist, and then physically assualt them? Wouldn't it be great if the boffins could create a black hole that just sucked in the world's lowlife?

it happened a couple of years back to The Rolling Stones and Keef just took off his telecatser and belted the bloke, his reasoning being that the stage is the domain of the performer and the rest is for the audience, the bloke had crossed the line and he wasnt going to hang around to see if this bloke was a nutter or just wanted to give him a hug so he smacked him first. Someone jumped on stage during a Jeff tweedy solo gig last year and got simular treatment, I'm not pro violence but i have little sympathy for these nutters.

a different genre musically but the maniac who got up on stage and blew dimbag darrell's head off a few years back. he shot him because he wouldn't reform pantera. there's some crazy motherfuckers out there.

i too am a pacifist but i would have decked the c**t if i'd seen something like that at the stray cats. setzer is a superb performer and to rob the world of as talent like that is just madness. what if he'd cut the tendons on his hand and he couldn't play again?

Morrissey has always been someone who welcomed stage invasions and thankfully, they always proved to provide special moments for the fans who just wanted to hug and kiss him. That no longer happens at concerts, mainly, I think, due to the security policies of venues.
But as time goes on, I am more and more relieved it doesn't happen anymore. The thoughts of what could happen! :pale:
As for feeling the urge to seriously hurt such bastards that intentionally mean to harm artists, in the not-too-distant past, I had to be physically restrained after two bastards started jeering and booing when Morrissey had to leave the stage early, because he was so unwell with a throat infection.
I wanted to kill them!!! :*:
