How was the m. ward streeter? Might have to pick up his new album

Loved it. This is the second time I'd seen him - also caught his show last year in support of Transistor Radio - and I've just been blown away both times by his musicianship (terrific guitarist), band, voice, songs. He's become maybe a bit more of a showman but the chat with the crowd is generally kept to a minimum. He's very camera shy as well and kept his mug well-hidden under a baseball cap for most of the evening, with the exception of the encore. His touring drummer, Rachel Blumberg, who used to be with The Decemberists, is a real powerhouse as well. I would definitely recommend seeing his show and picking up the new album, Post-War, while you're at it. He's something special IMO.

I'm probably teaching you to suck eggs, but if you like M.Ward (who I agree is a brilliant talent) then check out John Fahey.
M.Ward has mentioned him many times as an inspiration.

Last gig - The Pipettes, Monday night in Manchester. Very enjoyable night out.

Next gig - Lloyd Cole. A blast from the past.

Then - Raconteurs, Beautiful South, Killers and Richard before the end of the year.

Aye, there's the little Nicky & Nadine plotlines to trawl through as well - the fast forward button got a bit of hammer. all comes good with Wyndam Earle though & the last episode is shit your pants stunning.

Anyhoo, gigs...
