Help wanted!
My band Roaming Son are after broadening our horizons and getting some gigs out of Sheffield,
We want to start with places nearby, possibly Manchester / Leeds etc.
Anyone got any suggestions of places to play? i've tried e.mailing / facebook / etc but seem to get fobbed off a bit to be honest.
Noticed a few Promoter peeps on here so any help woulf be appreciated.
We play dirty rock'n'roll, all original stuff,we've built up a steady following around sheffield, headlining and supporting major bands, featured in local press, blitzed Tramlines etc. theres all the links below too.
Ideally we just want to get some support slots to get our name around!

Over here in Stoke there are a few places you could try - tell them that Elvis Fontenot sent you -

The Old Brown Jug, Newcastle-under-Lyme (Good atmosphere, but they can sometimes be a bit tricky to convince to put you on first time, sight unseen)
The Rigger, Newcastle-under-Lyme (A rock pub, but take on others. Matt, the sound guy, is our dep bass player)
The King's Head - Stoke (A huge block of student digs, opening in September has been built right next door to this formerly sleepy pub. Going to be bouncing, come the autumn. We played there last week and Louise, the landlady has big plans - she's lovely, too.)
The Full Moon, Newcastle-under-Lyme - just round the corner from the Old Brown Jug - might be easier to get a gig here than the Jug, first time. Not played there for yonks, but it always has gigs on.

These are all places (apart from the Full Moon) that we play fairly regularly and would suit you, I'm sure. You can find most of them on Facebook. I'd try the Rigger first, then the King's Head.

You could play at the Nantwich Jazz Blues and Music Festival. http://nantwichjazz.com/band-registration/ It takes place over Easter with big bands in the Civic Hall and other bands playing in pubs around the town. It is a lively event.

Crewe - Stoke - Nantwich all close to each other - this place is right next to Crewe Station - near the Manchester Uni - Crewe Annexe - or whatever they call it nowadays - http://www.theboxcrewe.co.uk/shows.php

For Manchester I would get in touch with Mog or Beaux from the Lonesome Penniless Cowboys - who post on here - or takemeanywhere Mike - as they will have the low down on Mancland venues.
