I made a real last minute decision to get my arse on a plane and over to Sheffield for this and fuck me am I glad or what, Neil McSweeney really fucking class, layed down the standard for Justin with a perfect support slot the guy should and will go far, then Justin followed, rose to the challenge and well, just one of them nights again really, awesome. Much thanks to The Dave and Sophie for putting me up and feeding me (both domestic godesses) Craig for putting on the gig and being a geezer as always, great to meet and share pints and a chat again with palerider, Kirky & Marie all be it too briefly, if you missed it tough luck but there is always next time.

That was without a shadow of a doubt my fucking No1 GIG OF THE YEAR! An absolute blinder!!! If Neil McSweeney and Justin Rutledge dont start getting the recognition they rightly deserve in the next year then the human race is FUCKED!

Sorry Julie, but it was better than ANYTHING I've seen this year. Neil McSweeney deserves to have his stuff championed in the way we've stuck up for Richard and if people dont get out and see these acts then it's a crime that these fuckers will wait and pay a zillion quid to try and see the fucking Killers!! Craig and others like him in different cities are promoting some amazing talent usually at a loss. It's time the major labels started taking a few risks again or some government money is ploughed into developing the talent in this country.
