went to see the reverend for the first time last Night at the rescue rooms in Nottingham with Our dean,Graham and some mates had a great night.I was knocked out by the musicianship of the band, the only thing wrong was the sound, very unclear, you couldn't hear a word of the vocals and the guitar was too distorted so you couldn't pick out the notes but i don't think that was the fault of the band, shame really i was vibing on the music. It was so packed that you couldn't move around much, the sound was a lot better at the bar....which was rather convenient :BEEEERi would recommend seeing them on this tour they're a blinding band, just guitar slap bass and drums and a wide variety of music comes out of just those three musicians, anything negative i have said is all to do with the crap sound not the band they were great for anyone interested in seeing them live have a look here for the rest of their dates

Balls. i didn't know they we're touring, would have got tix for Nottingham!
been a fan of Horton's for a while, his playing is outstanding, i like his tongue-in-cheek style of songwriting too.
shame the sound wasn't up to much, hate it when it's like that.

I'm doubly gutted about missing this now! I didn't see that the Rev was playing anywhere other than the Astoria and only found out about the rest of the tour while he was probably on stage in Nottingham. Saw him in Manchester a couple of years ago and loved it. Interesting what RH says about the sound in the Rescue Rooms - I've seen a few bands in there and there's often been a similar problem - the Detroit Cobras were one of the worst victims. Shame when that happens.

I have seen the Rev countless times over the last 15 years or so....that band is THE hardest working band in show business! Seriously - they tour incessantly! JIMBO rules!
