what can I say? Absolutely amazing voice. Chan Marshall on great form, looked as though she was enjoying it all. Quite a bit off Jukebox, some from The Greatest, a few I didnt recognise. Live sounded rawer, heavier, nervier - occasionally it felt like watching a trapped, damaged feral animal, chan wears her pain like aural psoriasis somehow she conveys the weary angry self-destruction of internalised desolation.

There was a reinterpretation of 'lived in bars', a joyous 'aretha, sing one for me', but no 'living proof' :(

She finished by milking the adoration, crushing cream chrysantheum stems to her face, crushing the petals, before teasingly throwing them one at a time into the crowd. The room hung heavy with the heady perfume of flowers.

Think playing Manchester this week - get yourself over.

  ... I was trying very hard not to be my usual flippant self and to convey something of the performance.

 would you prefer me to mention what the band was wearing? :*:

Think it must have been cocks in because there was mention that they were wearing clothes but no details as yet

When ever I get drawn into discussions on clothing ... say it quietly threads-with-no-name or lack of clothing :silent: I get into big trouble.

But I will confirm, the band were clothed bit of a rock-chick thing going on with Chan ... but difficult to see because unlike Hawley gigs with small women in high-heels crowding the front, the view was blocked by big blokes with wide hair.

  boyhoy? was this when he threatened to play live with nothing on but his guitar?? :*:
