For those of you going to watch James at the new Sheffield Academy next Tuesday, make sure you have had a good listen to the wonderful new album, Hey Ma. They opened the tour in Bradford last night and played ten songs from the new album. That said, it was one of the most exhilerating live performances I have ever seen and Booth and the boys are obviously very proud of the new record.

This tour is certainly not a greatest hits tour and the band have already said that Sit Down will not be getting played. Expect the unexpected and get your dancing shoes on, you're gonna need 'em!

If you buy the deluxe edition of Hey Ma from itunes then you get a bonus track (Child To Burn) and a commentary.

Saw them at Manchester MEN Arena last year - fanbloodytastic. Took me right back my teens years. Not going to the Sheff gig - but got a ticket to the Blackpool Empress Ballroom gig. Going on my lonesome :( But if anyone else is heading there, let me know...

A load of us are meeting up in The Blue Room in Blackpool around 7pm on the night of the james gig. The Blue Room is just a little bit further up Church Street than Winter Gardens. Come and join us for a pre-gig drink.

Oh and Fagan's Lass, there's a car full coming over to Sheffield from Manchester too. See you there :D

Cheers Takemeanywhere. That's really great. How will I recognise you? Flowers in your hair, perhaps?

Not really my bag but I have to say that despite that I thought they were very impressive, especially Born Of Frustration.

I'd put a few more up (and I've got loads better than this one) but I had to sign a contract before I could shoot the gig saying that James would be entitled to appropriate the pics for use on their website without payment to photographers. I'm not having that so i'd appreciate it if this didn't make it's way onto the James forum or anywhere else thanks. It's hard enough trying to make a living out of being a photographer without any of that. Pisses me off.

Anyway, I digressed, sorry..

That's shitty snapper. Not surprised you're pissed off.

However my 16 year old self had a 'kin fantastic time last night. The whole band looked a bit overwhelmed by the crowd's reaction and they really seemed to be enjoying playing. Highlights for me were Ring the bells and Seven. The new stuff sounded ace too.

Great gig, and I can finally say I enjoyed myself on a night at the Roxy. Never thought I'd say that.

So when's H doing a standing gig in Sheff then? It's been a while....

That's a real cheek - are they allowed to do that?

Woo hoo! Fantastic gig in Blackpool last night - and finally got to put a face to a RH forum name. Thanks for looking after me before the gig Takemeanywhere - glad you answered yer phone, had visions of walking into the bar and having to shout 'Takemeanywhere'. Not advisable in Blackpool!!! :*:

For anyone who's interested, the review of the Blackpool gig from the Lancashire Evening Post is online at:

Nice heartfelt review from my mate Jude - just a pity we have to work to such a tight wordcount :(

YOu know James used to be so popular in the States during the 90's, then they all but disappeared. I forget they are still around!! I would love for them to come back here.....I will check out the new album - thanks!
