Is it less pressure when its not your own gig? And are the audiences different from your more polite ones?

no i only do a couple of songs i have been a bit nervous at two of the gigs but i had a drink for Manchester and Sheffiled so didn't get nerves then,i NEVER drink before a solo show cos it would be bad on the audience they pay their hard earned money to see us and i would feel terrible if i was pissed on stage. The audiences seem to know who i am which makes it a little easier i did a gig with the Arctic Monkeys in December in Manchester at the Apollo and half the folks there didn't know who i was it was funny though. The crowds have been fantastic to be honest,Elbow are a brilliant band so its not surprising really.

Without wishing to be a creep, it were funny in Manchester when Guy asked you to sing Happy Birthday to Pete Turner's sister and you said "I'm trying to remember the fucking words".

I enjoyed Elbow at Leeds and Manchester and your appearance was special on both occasions. A mate of mine is seeing 'em in London tonight, so he'll be made up if you're showing your face down there.

Colleague has just reported that Elbow were fantastic last night and they loved the two tracks with Richard.

An extract from a blog - this made me smile! :*:

It was a treat to see Richard Hawley come on to do The Fixer; a great song, really dark, and he sounded brilliant. I think Guy Garvey felt a bit inadequate with his maraca next to Richard's outfit and big red guitar though
