Sarah Shook & the Disarmers at Night & Day in Manchester. Saw them in Groningen a week or so back, but they are worth a full outing. They've been on the road for a few weeks and are as tight as anything. Good responsive crowd too on a rainy Thursday in Manchester.

Going slightly out of order because of a press delay/embargo on the My Darling Clementine pending the publication of my review, here's Jarrod Dickenson at Biddulph Moor Village Hall - last Biddulph Up in Arms gig of the year and a good note to end on.

My Darling Clementine at Stoller Hall in Manchester - the venue had great sound and sightlines, but was somewhat cold and brutal. Excellent reinvention of MDC songs with assistance from students at Chetham's School, including Michael and Lou's daughter Mabel, who I've known since she was a toddler! Pictures and review were for Americana UK.

Bit late but, John Bramwell at the crauford arms, wolverton a couple of weeks ago. Him and a guitar, unbelievably brilliant. Had a nice chat with him before, top bloke.

Finally got the thumbs up to post my Billy Bragg photos from the Manchester Apollo last November - they should have accompanied an Americana UK review, but that got pulled because the reporter got COVID.

First gig of 2024 - Molly Tuttle and Tommy Emmanuel at Buxton Opera House - a masterclass in what you can do with an acoustic guitar - from both performers.

I did my annual MC job at Gloucester Cajun & Zydeco festival for its 30th year. Took photos and caught a lurgy while I was at it.
