First Aid Kit on Friday night in Manchester were jaw droppingly good, better than any CD.
Clear, wonderful voices. They did Ghost Town completely acoustic, no mikes, nothing.....absolutely
stunning.

The encore included Simon and Garfunkel's America.

Great way to start off 2015 gigs. ..>

Next up...The Staves

The guy in Field Report has a mutual friend with yours truly and comes highly recommended. Looking forward to it.

I've been listening to field report on Spotify and I'd reccomend them myself too, definately getting to the Tweedy gig early to catch them.

About 12 great gigs coming up in the first couple of months of this year as well as lots of great new music coming out. Me thinks '15 is gonna be a good one.

Those of you going to any of the Tweedy shows are in for a treat. Firstly DO get your arses there early to see Field Report.. very impressive live. As for Tweedy.. great setlist and a mix of the new album, Wilco and random cover versions. Much more stripped down band then Wilco setup and Jeff in great relaxed form, some very funny banter with the audience who were enthusiastic from the off... next up is Ryan Bingham.

Saw Pete Williams in the smallest venue in the world last night together with Shez Sheridan and Dean Beresford, an excellent night and strongly recommend catching a live performance and the new CD.

Saw First Aid Kit at Hammersmith Apollo on Tuesday night, enjoyed it very much. Their rendition of Ghost Town, without microphones, in a venue as large as the HA, was a highlight, notwithstanding the best efforts of the young couple sitting a few rows behind, who clearly felt that the girls unaccompanied singing to an otherwise silent audience of a couple of thousand people would not be complete without the continuous rustling of a bumper bag of fucking crisps.

When we lived in Hackney, I went to the cornershop one day and there was a man standing next to me with his cock in the tomatoes – fucking tomatoes, if you like. But fucking crisps? Man, that would hurt. All sharp and jaggedy, not to mention the whole salt up your knob thing...

Anyway, my mum always told me to wash fruit before I ate it and now I know why...x

Tweedy and Field Report were excellent - thanks to a snow day at school caused by early morning blizzards - which had thawed by early afternoon - I got an earlier train to Manchester :) Field Report - great laid back Americana with some well-chosen electronica were a pleasant start. Tweedy -with dad Jeff up front and centre - and son Spencer on drums - played for two hours, including around 45 minutes of solo Wilco stuff.

The Staves last night in Leeds were excellent. With the new album being delayed from January to
March, the 3 sisters almost apologised for the inclusion of the new songs, but it wasn't necessary,
they sound fantastic, some a bit more ballsy than the first album.

New and old were equally superb with a resounding Winter Trees to finish off a top night. ..>

Next up........Placebo in Leeds. :Hoorah http://richardhawleyforum.co.uk/templates/exposion_dark/images/logo_phpBB_med.gif :HOORAY
