St John's Church is a great venue, Egg. Happy to give you some pub/grub tips for the top if you're venturing down that way. x

Caro Emerald last night.........really enjoyable night, even though it was at the concrete block
that is the Leeds Arena.

She had everyone up out of their seats, some dancing.....not me, I have two left feet........all
singing along and a real party atmosphere.

Top night. :Hoorah

Next up.......Johnny Marr. ..>

Dave and Phil Alvin were superb - so superb that I'm gong to see them at the Maze in Nottingham on Monday too.

Obligatory photos that I took at the Ruby Lounge:

I'm sure they were amazing but I couldn't help laugh at the first two shots there.....do they share hereditary piles?.....ive seen similar shots of myself when I'm really going for it but it's always vaguely amusing

didn't know you were there efsb, but you're right, they were cracking, that drummer had a very late groove about her
their album of big bill broonzy covers is really great too.
my ears took a bashing though, always a bit too loud in there.

oh, and that cover of james brown's "please, please, please" was brilliant, not many folk would dare try that.

Johnny Marr last night in Leeds....as the kids say.....Boom! :bom:
Really good mix of new and old JM stuff, half a dozen Smiths songs and a bit of Iggy thrown in! :Hoorah

His guitar playing was sublime, I don't think I've seen anybody make it look so effortless. ..>

Top gig!

Next up..........Billy Idol!

We hosted the world premiere (Yes, really) of Crime writer Mark Billingham and My Darling Clementine's spoken word/musical production "The Other Half" in Biddulph last night. Fantastic night. The next gigs are Birmingham, London and The Hague - where Graham Parker is doing the reading instead of Mark B. Biddulph is becoming the rock'n'roll capital of the world....
