Angel Eyes was changed at the last minute for Chicken Bones......by request.

Nothing now until October!

That can't be right! :?

Jealous, he's not doing London until 30 November so we have to wait till then (last seen at the Roundhouse in March). John is truly amazing live.

Yep. We're going to the one at The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester.
Should be fantastic with a full orchestra. ..>

Not a gig quite, but I did land a ticket to see the Pulp film on a rooftop in Brooklyn, with a party after, and then at Lincoln Center. I later found out Jarvis is showing up (I think to the first showing, I'm easily confused). Very much looking forward to those days! Also an outdoor Teenage Fanclub show. There's so much more in NYC, but I'm a bit far to get to it all.

Last gig Neil Young and Crazy Horse and The National in Hyde Park.

Current next gig is a long way away, John Grant in November - but pretty sure there will be others before that, just waiting to see what comes up.

Matthew Halsall & the Gondwana Orchestra at Ronnie Scotts on Monday, followed by Burt Bacharach on Wednesday. You wait all year and then two come along at once...x

Great to see Burt still going strong... Never got the chance to see him but you never know...

Next for me is The National supported by Phosphorescent on Friday.... That really cannot come to quickly for me right now. :Hoorah

I saw an elsebound train, on the overpass
In the driving rain, every ticket costs the same
For where you can't go
Mustang horses, champagne glasses
Anything frail anything wild
It's the price of living motion, what's beautiful is broken
And grace is just the measure of a fall.

Great night at Ronnie Scott's seeing Matthew Halsall – would thoroughly recommend them, even if you're not a jazzer. If I stay alive after all these late nights and excessive amounts of gin, it's Burt for me tomorrow. xx

You take a lovely picture Nick.

Burt was just beautiful, I grew up with his music. It was a revelation to me, as a teenager, that boys had feelings like that. Who knew there was more to them than making fart noises with their armpits and trying to undo your bra strap. Last night, I cried at least twice but it was OK because a. it was dark and b. the old boy next to me fell asleep after about half an hour so he didn't notice!

Actually, I was easily the youngest on my row and I've got a few miles on the clock. It was a bit like when I saw H at the Southbank, our section was full of middle-aged ladies with bossoms heaving – very shocked at his prolific use of the f-word. More than a bit surreal. Still, the view is good and you can't beat an ice-cold G&T, looking out over the Thames from the terrace on a sultry summer eve.

For the next week, I shall be lying down in a dark room should anyone need me. xxxx
