At the end of 2018 Buddy Holly's songs got the orchestra treatment -as they did to Elvis and one or two others. Those that knew him said 'it's what he would have wanted'. Don't know about that..or whether it was even worth doing...

Buddy’s often been overdubbed, but this smacks of an insensitive saccharine money-grab from the bits I’ve heard. If they want to overdub Buddy Holly, then use RH, or Deke Dickerson, Nick Lowe or even Monte Warden - who would be closer to his spirit.

Hate these desecrations of great performers. It's got no merit whatsoever.

maybe not a 'desecration'..could be something to do with 2019 marking 60 years since his passing..

Next year it'll be a tour with hologram and 40 piece Orchestra...

....no wait that was this year with Hawkwind

Actually Hawkwind with Arthur Brown as show front man at Salford Lowry last October was one of the best nights in years - in a peculiar way it was quite sweet that for a wee while some of the crowd frightened me a little - first time that's happened in 40+ years
