It was almost Poison by Alice Cooper but singles had gone up to £2 from £1.50 so i didn't have enough.
I think it was Take on me by A-ha.

i remember listening to some of the Boo Radleys when going through a break-up (not Wake Up Boo, though)

My recent consistent favourite is Tonight the Streets are Ours.
