It's the price of living motion, what's beautiful is broken
And grace is just the measure of a fall.

Taylor Swift should really repay the compliment and cover a Ryan Adams Record... my vote would be for 29.

Glad he released this - think it's a bit hit and miss, but a brave attempt - and yes, she should cover something of his...

Almost singlehandedly got me through a real rough patch when it was released. Big move, big breakup, downsized at brand new job because of austerity measures, loss of a very close friend, all in the span of about six months. It's been sometimes hard to listen to in the ensuing years, much as I adore it, because it sort of put me back into that timeframe. I loved the rest of their albums and could listen to them just fine, and did get to see them once, but this record is hugely emotional for me. Listening today, thinking of Carey, and I'm surprisingly enjoying it without that specific sadness that I had attached to it. Although of course am sad for another reason, the loss of the lovely Carey. Still, this is very comforting and even uplifting to hear. Many thanks to these folks for unwittingly seeing me through, and for their sublime gorgeousness.

I remember trying to convince her that it was their best; she was having none of it. A tough listen, but I managed to play it start to finish earlier. Got me through a rough patch too, once upon a time. I'm glad that I have a few stories to go with it, but it's gonna be bittersweet forever now.

^ Would have been the first album of theirs Carey played on if I'm not mistaken... I remember her faux pissed when I asked her to play Let's Go Bowling from their previous record at one of the Dublin shows. "You'd have to ask for one I didn't play on" or something to that effect. :batman: :spiderman: :bigsmurf:

tonight.
