i think it's the most consistant album of his cannon. i love the instrumental 'danny'. to have such a beautiful track written for you must be wonderful. the song is full of love and so tender.

I'm curious... what's the 20 mins for...do you have some sort of routine/preparation beforehand?

...or maybe...nah...you wouldn't...would you  ....erm....perhaps no need to answer

Well it's just about enough time to play the mini album. Perhaps that's why he took it on holiday? :D

I've just taken receipt of my vinyl copy :D which I have to have. Call me a luddite but I just prefer listening to the best music on vinyl... I kind of think of mp3s and CDs as a non-committal way of sampling someone.

It's a stunning album. "Darlin'" is an all-time favourite, and we're planning on doing a cover of it, unless I'm petitioned by Mr. H to sod off and leave his tunes alone ;)

And who could blame him if he did!

Still feeling my way in to the album. I only got it the other day courtesy of play.com, £4.99. Don't tell Mr H he's in the clearance bin with Justin Timberlake.

A softer sound overall, but very melodic and typically gravelly. And only a twang or two of rockabilly. What's the story there I wonder.

I agree with a few of you that You Don't Miss Your Water is a great song. I hummed it to my little boy in the bath before and he placed a soapy finger across my mouth and said 'No, daddy.'

Now that I know Oh My Love (heard it first at Manchester and then Leicester) I love it. Apart from that track, does Mr H still perform any of the Lowedges songs on tour, do any of you know? Perhaps he'll treat us at the Albert Hall.

Luddites of the world unite! And long live vinyl (see my blog on the joys of listening to PJ Harvey at the wrong speed on nicholadeane.wordpress.com), typewriters, video, fountain pens, conversations, books...

I just brought this album from Hmv, it`s on offer at £6. I`m gonna save it for the week-end. I`m gonna put the Guinness in the fridge Friday night then wait for the traditional Saturday afternoon lull which we get in our house then sit back and savour what i know will be the usual high standard of music and poetic lyricism which we`ve come to expect from Mr Hawley. God f**king bless him.
