I'm seeing pre-orders for the black and picture disc vinyl but not the orange?! Help!!?

I don't really know why you can't get the orange vinyl from the official store but you can get them from Rough Trade, as mentioned by "listen2gene" that's where I've ordered mine from.

Oh really? I had better get over to Rough Trade sharp and cancel that order then, it isn't very clear that that is the layout of the album, not to me anyway

Looks like the Picture Disc is unique to the official store and the Orange Vinyl is in (some) record stores, apologies for previous information - I've not had this confirmed but hope this is now correct.

Am I excited about the new album, or what?

Before ordering, I'd like to know, is the sound quality of the picture records as good as that of nomal records? I remember reading somewhere that they sound OK at first, but that they wear out much more quickly. Is that right? I'm sure Richard doesnt' do anything carelessly, but just to be on the safe side, you know.

If all the album is as good as the sleeve and "Off My Mind", it's going to be great!

picture discs generally sound fine but audiophiles say they are a step down, just as a result of the slightly different materials used (clear vs black/coloured vinyl) - but they are generally fine - these releases tend to have less heavy duty packaging and less liner notes etc... due to generally putting them in something that displays the picture on the disc rather than in sleeves like "normal"

Thats my impressions but someone else might have some more informed thoughts

I thought this was the situation, re-ordered from Rough Trade again after cancelling.

Nah. Richard has broke the tradition of naming the albums after places in Sheffield this time round I read.

Looking forward to this! The single has a bit of a Stooges feel to it.

Thanks a lot! I'll think it over. I'm going to buy the CD anyway, no matter which vinyl version I end up buying, so the liner notes shouldn't be a problem, as I suppose all of them will be in the CD booklet even if they're not in the LP sleeve.

I bought the orange variant... I'm not much of a picture disc person. They don't sound great on my Rega.
Excited about the orange. Wasn't there a signed version for sale? Has it really sold out 3 months before its release?
