Great track and great pairing. It pleases me that so many more people who don't necessarily know your work will get to hear it and become fans.[/i]

They've had a flavor competition here in the States (not sure if they still do), but we'll have to create a Hawleyboard flavor, yeah? Compete with Cherry Garcia, Phish Phood, Wavy Gravy, etc.

The thought of a Hawley lolly is too much to bear and may send me back to the wilderness!

I dread to think where they would put the lolly stick in a Hawley lolly.

I saw the ad and it's lovely..."Open up your door" is my favourite song on the album and I was dreading the door being a fridge door. .. so relieved that it's not :D
It is nice that the advert is sweet and romantic and in the spirit of things so to speak....
If the song belongs to Haagan Dazs does that mean Richard will have to pay them if he wants to play it live? I don't understand how these things work....

The song remains the property of the artist. Cousteau's Last Good Day of the Year was used in ads in the US and Italy but the company only buys the right to use the song.

There will be those who say allowing a song to be used in an ad is 'selling out' but it's a way of getting the music out to people who would not normally hear it, and of course earns a bit more for the artist.

Now that's a major result in my book! Free ice cream I don't blame her!...no sane person would turn that down!

Hope you have a large freezer then Richard or will you be hittin the road decked out in a Hawley Ice cream van next summer?

That would be great wouldn't it, Truelove's Gutter Ltd Edition Ice Creams. Yum.

I used to have to send frozen desserts out as samples and freebies as part of my job I had years ago, (I suddenly found I had loads & loads of friends then...funnily enough!) I had to put dry ice (if I remember rightly!) in with them in a special container....Perhaps Mr H has hit the jackpot and they'll send him a articulated wagon load!

I wonder what a mix of Guinness, Henderson's and a selection of nuts will taste like! *I say with my tongue firmly in my cheek...before I offend anyone!*

And here endeth my mammoth post and attempt to not do multiple posts!

Are you allowed to say what the adverts were for? No names, of course. 8)

When I read that Richard was doing an ad for Häagen-Dazs..I thought it was for some obscure German lager or something!
