There is a new book out (I read a review yesterday) which focuses on the "lighter" side of WWI trench life - the authors were both infantrymen during WW1. It's a dictionary of Tommies' songs and slang and apparently is quite bawdy in places........... sounds interesting! :*:

Funny - I looked up this book today on Amazon to see how much it was - and they usually have a deal where you buy a book with a partner for a bargain price - the "partner" in this case is Delia Smith's book How to Cheat at Cooking.................

Got this from Brittannia book club years ago, found it in the attic eventually. Gonna start reading it again tonight, i remember it being quite harrowing. It's ironic that today's youth are killing each other with knives and guns.
