It's in Derbyshire, near to Sheffield, and has a church with a crooked spire.

Luke is probably the best person to tell you more about the town.

It's down south.

Popular pastimes include inbreeding, pointing at planes and sheep love.

If you want to fit in i suggest you practice speaking with a slack jawed drawl and don't wash for at least 3 months before visiting.

The scenic town centre is best viewed when it's dark.

Chesterfield is to Sheffield, what Reading is to London, only with less festivals.

The last time I went to Chesterfield was when Port Vale played Chesterfield on the day that the Hillsborough disaster occurred. I remember driving back, listening to the reports on the radio.

I guess there are worse places EB not many, but don't ever ever accept a job in Wakefield, now that is much worse :)

Chesterfield is around 2 hours by train to London St Pancras and 20 minutes by train to Sheffield.

Lovely countryside nearby.

it's a good little place and been improving a great deal over the last ten years or so. Easy to get to (or out of if you so desire), a few decent places to get fed and watered, some decent guitar shops, some GREAT cafes, great victorian park, good venue in the winding wheel, leisure facilities etc and some nice places to live. Few decent pubs as well. Generally cheaper to live in rather than the nearest cities, sheffield and derby, which is why it is kind of a commuter belt place now, although it is not a city it is the biggest town in derbyshire and contrary to what craig says you will meet some great people there.

Do NOT listen to what Craig says, that's bloody Craig for you and I assure you NOTHING of what he says about Chesterfield is at all true in my opinion it is a GREAT place and no better or worse than a lot of similar large towns around these days. It is GOOD man.

And for many years they elected Tony Benn as their MP. National treasure.
