I like the way, In Sheffield, you seem to get the "proper" pint pots. Maybe I'm over-generalising here, but it seems to be the same style of glass in any other picture of a pint of Guinness I've seen on this forum. By this, I mean, smooth all the way from the top to the bottom of the glass, tapering gradually.
You don't get the ugly, generic pint glass with the "bump" sticking out near the top. This is the only type of glass we seem to use for pints of drinks in my part of Ireland.

I can see why, Luke. It must be easier to let one of the above pictured slip out of one's hand after a few!!! :*:
I still prefer the elegance, the simplicity of the one above, though.
But, what would I know. Wouldn't be caught dead drinking a dirty pint!!!

I thought this article was featuring our Richard - at least till I got the third line, but thought I'd post it as he would probably be a man after our own Richard's heart! :*:

do they just come in for a visit?
last one i heard of that likes was his owner gave up the booze but the dog didn't...if he ever wnet missing they knew where to find him, dog'd get put out at closing time and make his way home, all full up with crisps.

they are guide dogs who come in with their owners and sit there or lie down together while their owners have a drink, they make themselves nice and comfortable :D
what you mentioned reminds me of a pub i frequent in whitby with another dog who comes in with his owner and they give him a saucer of guinness all to himself (the dog that is :D )
