Was in Cromford recently, walking along the canal path in brilliant autumn sunshine and just appreciating what a gorgeous place it is....Black Rocks, Scarthin Books, Cromford Mill...all well worth a visit 8)

Richard Arkwright's factory - haven't been for years. It's not too far, so I think a half term trip might be in order. Some long distant relatives of mine used to keep a pub there too, according to what I can remember that my late grandmother told me. The Greyhound rings a bell.

Scarthin books do some lush grub to go with the endless book browsing http://www.scarthinbooks.com/
...and I can recommend the walk from Black Rocks down the old rail path to the canal...all you need is some autumn sunshine :)

I went for a walk along Cromford Canal too! It was last Saturday (9th). We walked up Cromford Incline to Black Rock, across Bolehill and down to Whatstandwell where we walked back along the canal to Cromford. It is a lovely area, and only a couple of miles from where I live. The weather could have been a bit better though, as it was cloudy for most of the day.

Cheers, Steve.
