I'll ask a mate of mine who lived there for a bit. All going well we'll be spending a couple of days down there in October on our way to Zadar. I've just had a couple of loose conversations about the place with him, apparently its impossible to spend money there, dirt cheap but I'll get the gen off him and let you know,

Many years ago I was there (1982), before the war saw an end to the former Yugoslavia. No doubt it has changed a lot since then, The old town was really beautiful, contained inside huge ancient walls. It was a very cosmopolitan place with lost of nice bars, cafe's, shops etc. The harbour area was pretty nice. I recall a cable car running from the city up to the top of the hill above, and the views were stunning.

Cheers, Steve.

forgot about this, did actually ask my mate about it he said its great for 5 days to a week, after that there may be not so much to see and do that is unless you dont mind just chilling out and taking it in, he recommended renting a car for a couple of days and going out of town for a bit as there is amazing countryside and some cool towns not so far away which you might wanna see too.
