Quote: Dave Gilmour still owns a place in Lindos.
I didn't know that. Lindos must be a very inspirational place for songwriting. Come to think of it, it is probably inspirational for other stuff too; Painting, photography, drinking... Cheers, Steve. |

If it's a photo that is already on the internet, right mouse on it, Properties and copy the url - then in the post click on the IMG box paste the url, click on the IMG box again. If it's not on the internet you need to host it somewhere - Flickr, tinypix etc. and they will give you an url. e.g. [ Img] http://www.richardhawley.co.uk/global-a ... mo/001.jpg [/ Img] will give you Preview and if the picture shows, submit (Note, I've put a space in the IMg code there so you can see it but when you post those spaces won't appear). |

Oherrr...that brings back some memories. I recall walking up to the castle on a particularly hot afternoon in September 1989. The views were stunning. I bet it would be even better at sunset or sunrise. Cheers, Steve. |

Other that the UK, Greece is the only country I have travelled extensively. It is a truly beautiful land, and I have met some wonderful people there. If I was going to sell up and move to another country, a few places tucked away in the Greek countryside would be top of my list. As a photographer, I always feel truly inspired when I am there and have thousands and thousands of slides and photos going back years and years. Yep....you should consider staying a little while and seek out a place to stay off the beaten track, where local life has not been diluted too much by tourism. It is a most rewarding experience. A couple of years ago I was looking for a temple in the Peloponnese mountains and decided to stay over in a village called Andritsaina. It was like going through a time warp...so tranquil. The only place to eat was some old girl's house. She had put a few tables in her living room, and some of the old folks in the village went there to eat. Everything was cooked on a calor gas stove, and I am still unsure what I had to eat. She served really cloudy home made wine that gave me one of the worst hangovers I have had for 20 years. I found the temple the following day and photographed it through bleary eyes. Wouldn't change a moment of it Cheers, Steve. |

it is - at least where I generally go, Athens is a different story altogether -laid back and relaxed and at a slower pace that what we are generally used to, life is simpler and just better in my opinion and because the Greeks take there time and live at a less hectic pace than us, in the villages at least where i travel, as a consequence the people are extremely friendly and kind-hearted and it is easy to make lifelong friends there....as i have, I often wonder if I have Greek blood. Plus the women are fiery and beautiful. |

That wouldn't be in Athens in July 2010 would it? I am stopping over there for a few days on my way to some of the islands. A truly specatular gig venue would be the ancient theatre at Epidaurus. It is still used for plays and shows today and is in a stunning location. Cheers, Steve. |

Luke - couldnt agree more......do you think that the reason life is a lot slower over there is because its so f*ckin' hot? Richard.....what exactly were you doing in that photo above?.....looks like you a flicking a bogey? |
