It was over the road from where I worked and if they were full, which they very often were, they would tell us to go to the King and Queen pub next door until a table was available. They even used to come and get us!

I love the curry places in Rusholme in Manchester, but my favourite is a 'Thali for 2' from our local take away Khaza Tandoori. Fantastic quality - It varies in content but usually they send four meat/chicken dishes, naan bread, pilau rice, bhajis, chicken tikka pieces, saag aloo and a prawn or mixed dish - feeds at least 4 people and they deliver it for £16! Anyone want me to order?

Probably not as far as Sheffield, but I could ask; we order a meal every weekend and on Valentine's Day, every year, the white Khaza car pulls up outside our house and the driver delivers a red rose! Makes me howl laughing every year :*: :*: :*:

We used to go there when we worked on Clipstone Street. Haven't found anywhere as good in the Victoria area.

Used to be a halfway decent one just past Seafresh chippy towards Victoria - not that I used to make it very often since by then you had to have walked past Seafresh, the nice,(if noisy and busy) middle eastern restourant across the road andthe slightly odd and old fashioned, but v cosy, Grumbles.

mmmm Seafresh....

Nirmals on Glossop rd was good, but it's a rip off,

That big one on the bottom of Staniforth Rd is very good.

Reading this thread has made me a bit homesick! I used to love going to the Kashmir in Bradford, nothing fancy, pretty basic but always good. Went to Mumtaz as well, a few times but always ended up going back to the Kashmir.

The Taj Mahal in Donny was pretty good last time me and Mrs LPD went there. The "class act" in the area is the Dower House in Bawtry. :D
